What is Advent? Anticipating the Arrival

The season of Advent celebrates the birth of Jesus, the Christ. The Latin word adventus means “coming” or “arrival.” At LowCountry Community Church, we will join with millions of other Christians around the globe in lighting the five Advent candles in the coming weeks. Each candle symbolizes a tremendous truth of the Christian faith: Hope, Faith, Joy, Peace, and Light.

The daily writings you will receive during this Advent season come from our wonderful ministry team at LCC. Each day, you will receive a short devotional thought with a Scripture verse, offering you direction for each day of Advent.

As we embark on this journey together, may you experience and know the hope of Christ, who is the Light of the world.
