A Thank-You Letter to Dads
By Liz Lucarini
Hey, All You Dads Out There!
Whether you are a biological father, stepdad, spiritual dad or a father figure to those around you, as a daughter, I want to say thank you. Thank you for leading us so well. Thank you for guiding us with compassion and grace. I feel privileged to have a better understanding of my Heavenly Father because of knowing you.
I can only imagine the challenges that come with being a father in today’s society. Let me challenge you that you cannot be the best dad without continually learning from the best. As an imperfect father (yes, you will make mistakes, and that is OK!), you can lean day in and day out on our perfect Heavenly Father. He takes our mistakes, weaknesses, and imperfections and teaches us from them. God will fill in the gaps where you lack.
Every laugh, every ear you lend to listen, every hug and high five, every lesson you teach us, you are shaping us. So, if you are a dad, of any sort, please accept my deepest gratitude. Happy Father’s Day to you!
All my love,
A Daughter
