Building a Dream for the Lowcountry

By Jeff Cranston

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20, NASB

According to Matthew 28:18-20, the mission of the church is to reach out to nonbelievers and develop them, along with existing believers, into committed followers of Christ. How will LCC accomplish the mission God has given to us?

At LCC, we will continue to embrace our local mission: to see lives changed through the message of Jesus Christ. The vision of LCC is to see thousands of people living in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina transformed by the gospel. Let me share with you where I believe God is calling us for the next five years:

1. Expand LCC’s reach in the Lowcountry by opening two new locations and creating space for 5,000 worshippers to gather on a weekly basis.

2. Mobilize LCC through our #forthelowcountry initiative by serving 100,000 hours to address the practical needs of people.

3. Invest in LCC’s senior adults by creating events for seniors to gather and grow together.

4. Connect LCC people to new friends by encouraging every adult and student to engage in a serving experience that impacts the lives of others.

5. Engage the next generation by creating captivating ministry environments and programming for 2,000 children and students to gather in weekly.

6. Influence our culture by becoming a regional hub for hosting nationally known speakers and artists.

Mark 16:15 says, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Go is a pioneering word. It’s what we do. We have a street, a neighborhood, a community, a region, a country, and a world to reach. Jesus people go. Jesus people let the people of this world know that we are FOR them because Jesus is FOR them. We will go out into our community and share the greatest message the world has ever seen:

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:16

This is our vision. Let’s go!
