7 Spring Events Your Whole Family Will Love

It’s a great time to get outside and enjoy all that the Lowcountry has to offer. From music to art and from local cuisine to kids activities, your whole family will have fun at these spring festivals.

Oyster Roast, March 7, 1 p.m. – 10 p.m., Live Oak Park, Port Royal, S.C.
Come hungry for this event because it’s all you can eat oysters all day long! You will also enjoy the music of The Embers and Steel Rail Express, and your kids will have a great time in the kids zone. Tickets are $35 pre-sale or $45 at the door.

Harbour Town Spring Fest, March 22, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Bring your whole family for a fun day at Harbour Town and check out all the great activities: a sidewalk sale offering great deals; music; a variety of watersports, tours, and boats; classic cars; dining; and children’s activities.

Taste of Bluffton, April 4, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m, Calhoun Street, Bluffton, S.C.
Sample the best of Bluffton cuisine at this street fair of food. Free admission.

Port Royal Soft Shell Crab Festival, April 18, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Port Royal, S.C. Local chefs will be serving your favorite soft shell crab dishes as well as a variety of other festival foods. Your family will also enjoy the Classic Car Show and a Kids Zone, featuring rides for a variety of ages.

SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival, April 25, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Forsyth Park, Savannah, Ga. Bring your family and take in the magnificent chalk masterpieces on the sidewalks of Forsyth Park created by SCAD students, alumni, and high school students.

42nd Annual MayFest, May 9, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m, Calhoun St., Bluffton, S.C. Enjoy great food, arts and crafts, games, and music. Participate in the Pie Eating Contest or watch your kids have their fill at the Doughnut Eating Contest. Your dog can even have fun at the Ugly Dog Competition.

Original Gullah Festival, May 22 – 24, Waterfront Park, Beaufort, S.C. There is something for everyone at this fun family festival: dancing, music, arts and crafts, and a food court with local cuisine and traditional Gullah favorites.
