LCC Staff Spotlight: Tabitha Turner

You may know LCC’s staff members, but do you really know them? In this new blog series, you will find out more about the people who serve on LCC’s staff. From their favorite food to their favorite Bible verse, some of their answers may surprise you! This week meet Tabitha Turner, LCC’s elementary school coordinator.

Write your bio in three sentences:

I was born and raised in Southern California. I met my husband Ken in college, and we have been married for 26 years. We have four children and have lived in the Lowcountry for 17 years.

What’s the weirdest or most interesting job you have ever had?

My first job was working as a salesperson for Stride Rite shoe store. I was responsible for fitting children for shoes and stocking inventory.

What job would you like to have if you were not working in ministry?

I have always loved the idea of being a travel photographer.

Where is your favorite place to be?

I love kayaking on the May River.

What is your favorite book?

My favorite book series is “Abram's Daughters” by Beverly Lewis.

What is your favorite movie?

“The Proposal” is my favorite movie. I must have seen it over a dozen times.

 What kind of music do you listen to?

I love contemporary gospel music! 

What is your favorite food?

I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What is your favorite thing about living in the Lowcountry?

The beautiful beaches

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

Philippians 4:13: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Briefly tell us about your role at LCC …

I am the elementary school coordinator. I help to oversee the LCC Kids elementary programming on Sunday mornings, work alongside the LCC Kids ministry team to host fun events and schedule the awesome volunteers who serve in the elementary rooms.

How have you seen or experienced God at work in your ministry?

LCC Kids is growing in incredible ways! We have recently had the privilege of witnessing six children take the step of baptism. 

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I accomplished my goal of running a marathon (26.2 miles) a few years ago and never ran again.
