5 Ways to Start Strong in 2024
by Kristin Ling
Welcome to the beginning of a new year at LowCountry Community Church! As we embark on this journey into 2024, it’s the perfect time to refocus and recommit to your Christian walk. Whether you’re a longtime believer seeking renewal or someone newly exploring the faith, here are five invaluable tools and practices to kickstart your spiritual journey this year.
1. Dive into Scripture with Purpose
Equip yourself with the knowledge of God’s Word by engaging in Bible reading plans. The YouVersion app offers an array of plans tailored to different topics, durations, and preferences. Commit to a plan that resonates with you—whether it’s a chronological reading, a thematic study, or a devotional series—to deepen your understanding of Scripture. Use YouVersion’s digital or printable daily reading guide to help you study through the Bible in a year!
2. Utilize Quality Resources
Explore free platforms like Right Now Media, a treasure trove of Christian video content, studies, and teachings from renowned pastors and speakers.
Engage with the Kitchen Table Theology Podcast, hosted by Pastor Jeff Cranston. This podcast offers insightful messages, discussions, and reflections on faith-related topics. Take advantage of this resource to gain practical insights, tackle tough questions, and foster discussions within your family or community groups.
Finally, intentionally listen back to any service on our YouTube channel, Spotify channel, or Apple Podcast channel.
3. Join a Small Group or Community Study
Consider joining a small group or community study within our church. These gatherings provide a nurturing environment for fellowship, learning, and accountability. Connecting with others on a similar spiritual journey can enrich your walk with Christ and offer support during challenges. Find a group or study for you!
4. Practice Prayer and Reflection
Dedicate time for prayer and reflection daily. Cultivating a habit of conversing with God, expressing gratitude, seeking guidance, and surrendering your concerns can profoundly impact your spiritual growth.
5. Serve and Engage
Look for opportunities to serve within our church and the community. Volunteering and engaging in outreach activities not only blesses others, it also deepens your understanding of Christ’s love and compassion. Volunteer here.
As we step into this new year, let’s approach our Christian walk with enthusiasm, intentionality, and a hunger for spiritual growth. Let’s commit to seeking God wholeheartedly and allowing His Word to transform our lives!
