A Call to Serve

Brad Tholen’s life was forever changed in 2016 when Hurricane Matthew struck the Lowcountry. In the aftermath, he encountered Samaritan’s Purse for the first time. As he watched volunteers bring aid and heartfelt support to families in crisis, he felt a calling take root. Brad knew then that disaster relief was more than a passing interest it was his mission.

Since that pivotal experience, Brad has dedicated himself to following and supporting the work of Samaritan’s Purse throughout the South. He’s witnessed the impact of not only essential resources but also spiritual encouragement to people facing some of life’s hardest moments. Recently, Brad joined a relief team in Asheville, North Carolina, in the wake of Hurricane Helene, helping to clear debris and comfort survivors. There, he found that restoring hope was as powerful as any physical repairs.

$65,000 has been raised for disaster Relief.

100% of all contributions to the disaster relief fund are being used to provide direct ongoing storm relief.

“It has been my passion and desire to partner with Samaritan's Purse through LCC to provide people and resources to the life-changing work of Samaritan’s Purse. I'm proud of the response from our congregation.”

As he looks ahead, Brad is committed to inspiring others in the church to join this mission of service and compassion, confident that together we can bring purposeful care to those who need it most.
