To Know That You Know

Doubt can feel like a shadow that follows you, especially when it comes to your faith. Maybe you’ve wondered if your decision to follow Jesus was real. Maybe you’ve even asked, “Am I truly saved?”

You’re not alone. In fact, Scripture encourages us to take those questions seriously. The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 13:5: “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.

Faith isn’t about secondhand stories or simply going through the motions. It’s about a real relationship with Jesus. And it’s okay—healthy, even—to pause and ask yourself: Where do I stand?

Ask Yourself the Hard Questions:

  • Did I make a personal decision to follow Christ—not just to please someone else?

  • Was I truly sorry for my sin?

  • Did I understand that Jesus died to pay for that sin?

  • Have I repented and asked God to forgive me?

  • Have I invited Jesus into my life as my Savior and Lord?

If you answered yes, then stand firm in what God says: You are His. Take Him at His Word. Your salvation doesn’t rest on how you feel—it rests on the finished work of Christ.

Still Struggling with Doubt?

Maybe your doubts stem from feeling like you’ve failed too many times… or you wonder if you’ve somehow lost your salvation. But Jesus said clearly in John 10:28: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Salvation is secure—not because you hold tightly to Him, but because He’s holding tightly to you.

What to Do When Doubt Creeps In

  • Turn to Scripture: Let God’s Word remind you of what’s true.

  • Confess Sin: If there’s something standing between you and God, deal with it. He is always ready to forgive.

  • Lean Into Prayer: Real prayer leads to real connection—and real assurance.

  • Talk to Someone: Don’t carry these questions alone. Find a trusted friend or pastor to walk through them with you.

You don’t have to stay in a place of uncertainty. Jesus wants you to walk in freedom and confidence. Not because you’ve done everything right—but because He did.

And if you're not sure where you stand, settle the matter today. Don’t wait. Eternal life is not something to guess about. It’s something you can know for certain.
