Over 75 Beaufort Country School Staff Set Up For Success This School Year
LowCountry Community Church (LCC) hosted a School Staff Appreciation Lunch on July 28 for local educators, administrators, and their families.
"Teachers and school staff give so much to their students each and every day, and it can seem like their hard work, dedication, and passion for the next generation often go unnoticed," said Will Hopson, LCC's Outreach Pastor. "This has been the shortest summer break in years for teachers, and we wanted to show our local educators that we are for them and that their church family loves them."
The Appreciation Lunch saw 75 school staff members and their families (over 150 in total attendance) gather for a day of celebration and gratitude. The event highlighted LCC's commitment to supporting educators.
Tiffany, a local educator, said, "Thank you so much for the love, support, prayers, and generosity! It was an amazing morning and afternoon! Thank you for blessing us for the 2024-2025 school year!"
LCC church members donated over 900 school supplies, significantly easing the burden on teachers as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Hopson said, "Our goal was to completely clear the wishlists of as many school staff as possible. Seeing our church family come together to show their love and support in this way was incredible. We can't thank them enough for their generosity."
Esther, a third-grade teacher, said, "A lot of these items I've had on my wishlist for about a year… I'm very thankful to be able to receive this! I could not be more grateful, and I can't wait to have another awesome year with my third-grade students!"
In addition to providing a celebratory lunch and over 900 school supplies, LCC's pastors intentionally prayed over the school staff as they sought to impact their students this year. Hopson said, "I don't know about you, but I can think back to the amazing teachers at school who influenced me most and helped shape who I am today. The impact of the staff at our schools can be life-changing."
