Hope Amidst Competing World Views

Jesus Christ is not one god among many – He is the only God.

Jesus Christ is not one kernel of divine truth – He is the only truth.

Jesus Christ is not one path to heaven among many – He is the only path.

John 13:36-38 (NASB)

36Simon Peter *said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.”37Peter *said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.”38Jesus *answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.

John 14:1-6 (NASB)

1“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.2“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.3“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.4“And you know the way where I am going.”5Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”6Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

  2. What seasons have you been through where you needed this encouragement of hope?

  3. Who shared with you this Hope for a Future? Pastor, Family member, friend, etc?

  4. When do you need to be reminded of this Hope for a future?

  5. Who can provide this encouragement to you?

  6. Is there anyone in your life that needs to hear this message of Hope?

  7. If Jesus is the only way for salvation, what happens to those who have never heard it?

  8. Who needs to hear this message of Hope? Who is your one?

Prayer:

  • Praise God for His provision of grace and salvation through Jesus His son.

  • Praise Him for the Hope he provides through difficult and dark seasons in our lives.

  • Confess to him your needs for His continued encouragement of hope through the Holy Spirit and the church

  • Thank Him for the hope he has provided through difficult times

  • Thank Him for sending His son to be the way, the truth, and the life

  • Make your requests known to him

  • Pray for Your One. Ask The Holy Spirit to give you opportunities to share with your one this message of hope.
